my sveni do good with an oscar, african brown knifes, needle nose gar, and a colombian catfish. you cant really say what they'll do good with cause alot of it depends on the individual fish. but one thing is certain try to stay away from something that has the same body shape cause 99% hate other pike.
So they might do good w/ a Florida gar maybe? So now wolffish? My friend has one that's 11" that he wants to sell? He'd probably eat the pike...

okay, i'll quit spewing out incorrect information now

gars are generally not good tankmates for cichlids, but it's working for me (loisellei, oscar, frontosa, 2 small lucius). common wolves usually aren't good with tankmates but will sometimes do okay.

i'm always for pushing the tankmate envelope :)

ok wolf fish is a completely bad idea... Gar is a better idea then wolf but i wouldnt trust it. Having the Convicts that breed and provide live food for your 3 orange pikes, if you want cobras then get cobras they look better then orange piikes as adults. like my man said when they pair off. sell the odd ball, before it gets killed. You want to experiiment with tank mates, put sand in ur 300 with a stonefish(i know they are suppose to be brackish) but ive seen some keep them in freshwater. Obviiously the stone fish should be smaller then your pikes... I dont like experimenting with fish that can just competely swallow my prize fish without warning... I.E. Wolf fish, tropical gar

I had 9 pikes in a 185. 3 Xingu 1, 3 Lucius, 2 Cintas, and 1 johanna. The Lucius started getting picked on by all the others as they got left in the growth game at about 7". So I moved them into a 125. My Johanna is my smallest in the tank now and she has enough attitude to do ok so far. The 3 Xingu are about 9" so almost time for them to pair up and I am guessing ww3 will break out. The Cinctas have exploded in growth and are now the largest 2 pikes so I am watching them to see when to move the Xingus.... I have tons of pvc pipe for them to hide in and I think this is helping....

Oh and the Xingu 1s and the Johanna will grow at about the same rate so you could try 2 groups of them. The Belly Crawlers will max out at 6" or so. The other 2 will pass them in size in a very short period of time.
