Dirt cheap filter socks, are they safe??

somebody asked how i was running the filter sock on my sump, so here's a quick pic. i had to use something heavy duty to hold it up since this thing weighs like 15lbs when it gets full of water

is that 100microns?
nice article... anyone knows where to get those long ones not the socks but the 10ft size that can but to size? i should have gone filter socks on my sump..to late...

That is basically the same thing that everyone else sells.
Hey J, just for reference. I am running an 100 micron inside of a 50 micron and only had to change it out after a month or so. Your fish are too dirty. LOL

You know, I get picturesque results by tying a 100 micron paint strainer bag (purchased at the paint store) to the output of a powerhead and running it in the tank for a few hours. Just a tip for those without sumps who want to lightly polish their water on the cheap.
