Dirty Fish

Big fish produce big waste. For their size, most livebearers (guppies, mollies, swordtails, plattys, etc.) produce lots of waste (what goes in usually comes out a couple of hours later). Common plecos are poop machines. Koi and goldfish are very messy fish. Large cichlids produce a lot of waste. Stingrays have large feces. Many of your larger catfish produce a lot of waste. Not worth my time trying to rank a fish by how much $hit they produce. I'll leave that to others.

x2 puffers and catfish have been my nemesis

My 3 common goldfish(8"ea.) actually keep the sand in my 210 very clean as they sift the sand constantly. I have a koi in with them and its 8" also, same story. The Oscar, 15", in the same tank, makes a huge mess when eating, but very little poo. The biggest mess maker is my Royal Pleco(L190). This fish is like a chainsaw, mowing through the driftwood, dusting everything in the tank with "sawdust". It is EVERYWHERE!!!!
