Done it a few times. Even if you don’t own the home: drill sump, poke a hole in the drywall, poke hole in exterior wall, caulk the holes and wala you have flood proofing. Do it when wife and kids are away! Way easier than it sounds. Oh yeah, buy wife a fish as well.
Oh don’t forget appropriate tubing!!

anybody with a sump should have this set up and it looks extremely simple. whats a smoke detector cost $5? and you can get a float sensor for $.99 on ebay.

After 2 ato overflows on my salt system I did that same set up. Then someone showed me how to kill the power to the ato pump the same way .....awesome for when I wasn't home.

Yeah and i think with how much youre cutting your stock you may not have to even do water changes every week. are you keeping any of the cats?
