well at least it wasnt live food. but i bet those white skirts fall victim often. that fish was huge....

i am in no way justifying what the video is showing and i am in no way i saying i would feed live to my brandtii but.. and its a big but.. lets say at the lfs there is a feeder tank over stocked and a nice 4 inch solo arowana. would i rather feed the arowana to my brandtii or the probably sick feeders? i would rather feed the arowana as most predatory fish keepers would. since it is healthy and probably well cared for.. as the same with the koi shown in the video.. to say that the arowanas life has more value then the feeders would be nonsense because the fish dont know the difference( whether they were bred for feeding or for a pet). that is only a connection we make.. yes they probably could be fed other things but it is on the shoulders of the fish keeper, you cant really get discusted at something like that IMO cuz a piranha is a predator and they do what their instincts tell them to do.. which is kill and eat the fish presented to them as a food item.. but to each his own man.. if that gets you upset i wouldt seard piranhas on youtube nearly every video is of piranhas attacking and eating something live..

dont worry i gave him some harsh words to think about =)
koi are awsome
i could see him feeding a big goldfish but that koi was basically starting its life
it was awsome looking

yeah i jsut read some pretty harsh replies to his video on youtube. i see what your getting at based on a nutritional value. but the point here to this bad fishkeeper or the like who posted this video is that he fed the koi for his own entertainment. when it was totally unnecessary. and he makes it seem like its the piranhas fault. yes theyre carnivores, but you feed them feeders, and if the feeders are sick, you dont feed them feeders, especially at the size they were at.

Your arguement that just because something is not a "feeder" fish makes it anymore wrong than feeding a rosey red is crazy. Either you agree with it or not, the kind of fish doesnt make it any better. Thats like saying that its a greater tragedy if someone beautiful dies than someone ugly.
