You weren't breathing in the fumes of the burning styrofoam where you? hopefully not! and for people planning to this also remember to wear a mask and work in a well well ventilated area! but nice job so far! BAD*** SO FAR!

i have it siliconed to the back, sides, and bottom of the tank now, just got to fill all the seams and gaps. after that cures all i have left is to do the last coat of drylok coverover the seams. im using black silicone at the fron where it attaches to the glass. im going to let that cure for a couple days and then fill it up. ill post pics in a lil bit

Nice job, i would think the drylock would make it unatural looking and glossy, that is why i thought the grout method was the best but you are changing my mind a little with that second coat. How did you make it look so natural. Also if you are only using drylock then how did it get that brown color? Does drylock do that. I wanted to give you props because the grout method is much more time consuming, especially with the water chemistry.

I think with time, all that glossy appearance will get covered by the algae and other things as the tank matures. On another forum, a member also used drylock and mentioned that he had the paint department add a bit of coloring...
