 I LOVE IT! How did such a helpful thread turn into this!

Not Cool Either Monster :(Cmon Guys this forum needs help by giving using sharing And me personally i love this forum And like i say i am guilty myself of this same type of wise ass comments but in the end the thread gets shut down and "nobody learns anything Cmon guys's

Agree - But I'm right you must admit... I wouldn't say to you HULON that you don't have fish big enough to feed puck sized pellets too...lol becuz I don't know.. if you do or not..? and really wouldn't care anyway..

This is funny to me.. I'm not hurt at all by what people say or don't say on this site but the one thing I'd never do and expect from others is not write statements about someone else that they do not know to be true or untrue. Not cool. I have always been open and honest about everything on this site, I've done great things and made some mistakes just the same, however I share all of it with you guy's to either help someone or learn myself and that's bottom line. Not here to say that I don't believe HULON don't own peacock bass... and start crap I know nothing about..for example .

Anyway -

True True But just getting tired of seeing poor guys New guys getting stomped on guys that know a little info giving dangerous info!!!! Then when "we" as fishkeepers grow a fish gain a little confidence Myself included !!!! think we know it all and won't listen to some advice !!!! Take it in!!!! use it apply might work might not But it's always changing improving if we get stuck in a certain way of thinking we won't advance and that's a fact!!!!!

One more thing LOL!!! Sometimes you gotta let people do what their gonna do !!!! I have had tons of failures trick is to learn from it and apply it;)

Yes it is very true RD You have stated fact that being said i use Hikari by preference the old saying you get what you pay for applies in my mind i have tried other ways to feed and have returned to the best !!!!But i tell ya RD your message would be much better recieved if you toned down a bit with your answers and give just a bit at a time let these hobbiest digest bits of info at a time to smack them like ya do shocks people and turns off the reception ...Just my opinion from my own personal experiences ;)

X2

This is the kind of thing that I hate MOST about this forum...

How the hell do you know that I don't have a 250lbs red tail that that could swallow your dame head...make a puck size pellet a snack...YOU Don't! And I absolutely have catfish more then big enough to eat a puck sized pellet and why I said it. I feed them whole 1.5lbs to 2lbs mackerel now....

But let me guess, you know everything - what a joke-

I didn't say that no one on MFK owns a fish that could actually eat a hockey puck sized pellet, certainly there are those that do, what I should have said was that no one on MFK should be feeding hockey puck sized pellets, as no one owns a fish large enough to properly assimilate & digest a pellet of that magnitude. Is that better?

I've seen fry eat 4.5mm pellets, that doesn't equate to them being ideal size for that fish.
As previously stated, these sizes have been designed for maximum assimilation & digestion by the fish. Too large and a lot of the food simply gets wasted via chewing, or is poorly digested, which again equates to wasted food, and wasted $$$.

This type of science isn't based on theory, it's based on real science, and real hands on practical application by commercial aquaculture facilities that spend hundreds of thousands of $$$ each season just on feed costs.

As an example, the sturgeon shown below was raised on pellets, 8-10mm in size, not 100mm hockey puck pellets. Not because it couldn't eat pellets that size, but because of the total waste involved if those size of pellets were fed. (think digestion & proper assimilation, not just mouth sizes)

BTW - no one pissed in my corn flakes today, but it seems like they might have in a few others. :)
