That diagram is nearly identical to the stand under Toni's tank. Hers is 6ft so it has center supports that a 4ft don't need.

The only difference I see is on mine the green studs run length wise not width wise, but I don't see that making a big difference. 15250233137971660093883.jpg

I’ve built all of mine, and after really looking at the factory pine stand my 220 was on and wondering what magic kept it from crumbling under the weight, I decided to upgrade all of mine. It’s not hard, doesn’t take long and will give you 50 times the support the store bought ones have. I acutually kept the facade of my store bought stand and screwed it to the front of the one I built, it saved all of the fuss about designing doors and overall aesthetics.

Yes but you could add more to beef it up.
I was thinking some towards the middle between the top and bottom racks

Thanks man I'm not handy so hopefully I get this done in one try.

So true I gave one of my buddies my old 150 and couldn't believe the stand held it up for all these yrs

If I can build a stand and you have built your own Sumps I see you having no issues. My only suggestion is invest or rent a small miter saw you won't regret it. Yes I would add extra support also.:)

Grab the Ryobi chop saw from Home Depot. Totally worth having. Aside from that make sure the cross members rest on top of the uprights rather than butting up against them. Sounds stupid but all the pressure is going down to the floor that way, and if your winging it that could be something you accidentally regret. Honestly DIY King has a video on YouTube you can follow to a tee, super solid design and it’s easy to build. I could park a truck on the stand I built for my 220 and it’s almost exactly the same.

Have an issue guys. The corners aren't sitting flush between the tank and stand. I'm not finished yet but do have the top and bottom frames done. I out the tank on one of the frames just to test.

So do I need to re do or maybe get a piece of plywood ?
