Do fish become sad when in small tanks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
PB&J is wandering the halls of my ignore list right now. Population: 1

Really? While I can certainly understand the appeal of a "personal ban"...I just won't let myself be forced to do something like that...except, of course, when my non-computer-friendly sausage fingers accidentally Ignore or Follow somebody and I only notice it after the fact...:)

If the poster in question here is sufficient to make you hit the Ignore button...just stick around awhile longer. There are people here who will have you launching tactical nukes...:)

yeah i guess your right i didn’t see their past posts…the knife piranha one is painful 😭

Yeah, but...to be fair...I believe he was asking that particular question "for a friend..." :uhoh:

...animals dont have emotions just senses

I can't say I agree with this, but hey, could be worse...like the posters who have no sense(s), just emotions...:)

One thing's for sure. We currently seem to have a new wave of daftness on the forum at the minute.

Ah yes, that old chestnut, "I'm asking for a friend".

I just hope these new guys "friends" don't introduce their friends friends friends friends, because we'll reach a level of stupidity on the forum like we've never seen before, lol.

Naaah... I've read a bunch of his stuff and RD's not that bad.

:naughty:

Truth be told, I initially thought 'well, maybe PB&J is like 8 or 9 and has been raiding mom's purse enough to do the stuff he talks about albeit w/ zero knowledge'.

Then I ruled that out.

Then I thought 'well, maybe PB&J is special needs and deserves a little extra kindness'.

A review of his posts made that seem possible but at least marginally unlikely.

Then I thought 'well, you're 63. Do you put up w/ intentionally irritating clowns in meatspace'?

And the answer is no.

I'll keep my ignore finger conditioned just in case this board attracts a few more annoying dipsticks but truth be told this site is too valuable (to me) to allow a handful of irritating spammers to botch it up. Those types normally don''t do anything to chap a mod as they know that would get their IP blacklisted and they'd lose their chance to get their jollies chafing others, in which case my more strategic policy lurks in the background, always at the ready.

I'm not mad or anything even remotely close. Just a housekeeping matter that I probably should have kept to myself and that allows me to come back often w/out having to filter through annoyances just to get to a post I'd like to read.

My apologies for hanging the laundry in the front yard.

My cousin's 6th cousin who's uncle that has three daughters, a sister-in-law, twelve half nieces , eight descended aunts and a quarter sister with ten siblings once removed with one ancestral brother who knows half the state of Montana and portions of San Diego just outside of the Bronx near Saskatchewan are asking for all their relatives in Mexico just north of Antartica. Wondering how many fish will fit in the smallest tank possible with the least amount of work.

I always think about your second thought before I get into an argument with someone. Some users might recall long threads of debates with me and the loach king lol.

Anyways, I'm just annoyed that PB&J basically berated someone who had a dying pacu.

While at times placing a comment or person on ignore may seem like the best manner in which to proceed, I always remind myself that these topics and discussions may one day outlive myself and others, that are currently active members here. People come and go. The algorithms of google will carry on, and hopefully one day others may find some value in my comments. For every member that reads a topic such as this, hundreds, potentially thousands of non members may eventually land here and read same. I refuse to enable ignore .....

Current stats for this site, and this topic this AM when I posted this.

Total: 1,093 (members: 47, guests: 1,046)

Current Views: 486
Future Views: ?

That's interesting, but I'm not sure I follow the logic. I agree that Ignore is too easy an escape, and don't use it myself...but whether I did or didn't would not impact anyone else reading a given topic, either now or in future. It might possibly spare them the pain of reading the comments which I would have or might have posted...but which I didn't because I had Ignored the thread and thus avoided being triggered by it in the first place. Certainly, most of my comments are carefully crafted to contain absolutely no redeeming value, neither at the time of posting nor in any imaginable future, so not posting might be considered a Win/Win; a thread like this one, for example, could continue meandering on through the intricacies of fish depression without any frivolous de-rails on my part...

...oh...but wait...this particular derail isn't one of those flights of fanciful farce that are normally orchestrated by esoxlucius esoxlucius and me bouncing increasingly silly ideas and observations off one another. This de-rail is almost entirely the work of a single nefarious mind, a relative newcomer to the MFK rogues' gallery...a cold and calculating intellect that lurks and observes and then pounces...

I lay the blame for the current state of this thread entirely at the feet of... Trouser Cough Trouser Cough !

Incidentally, some of my fish look a bit, well...not really "sad"...so much as distracted and sullen this morning...

I am concerned.
