Could be either or, or it could be that she doesn't feel that they are safe so she may eat them all if that's the case.

They’re mostly there now. Last time she got them all within an hour. Looks like she is just cleaning out the bad ones.

Sounds about right. I'd atleast expect the usual 3-4 day incubation period that most cichlids have.

Day 3 and nothing’s been eaten! Maybe this time?
Sometimes but not always. Some fish were just never ment to be parents. I had a pair of angelfish that bred like clock work but even after the 5th-6th batch of fry, the male would still just suddenly eat em all after a couple of weeks of em being free swimming.
Well, it was going well. Then yesterday there were more and more white eggs popping up in the mix of dark grey eggs. I thought the best could have pulled through. Today, no eggs.?
