She was actually not that bad unless another fish headed over there. She spent most of her time fanning the eggs and kind of puffing water on them. But make no mistakes when another fish went any where near them she let them know they were not wanted.

My cks dont seem to be growing any larger...they r about 38 inches++ in an 18 foot by 8 foot by 5 foot deep pond..

wow how big was she went she had the eggs..how does she look underneath when she is not having eggs..love to sex mine if possible..

she was about 18-20 inches I think when she laid them. She looks pretty much the same as in the picture. She slowly developed what I think is the ovipositor over time. I did not witness the actual egg laying so I am unsure exactly what she looked like when the eggs were being laid. Before she laid the eggs I noticed that she was extra protective of her section of the tank, and she would scoop mouthfuls of gravel up and spit them out at the other side of the tank. She would then kinda do a shimmy (I don't know what to call it, kind of a twitch. It looked like she was trying to swim forward, but would not actually move) and then she would rub herself on the log where she eventually laid her eggs.

I keep some big fish, for a swede atleast, aro, ck, dat, bichirs, in a 300 gallon.
and for me the growth rates has been.. well, not even close to some of the guys here. My water is as close to perfect as it gets and feeding is not excessive but not far from. I guess we have lower quality fish over here.

Jag tror att du kan skaffa en clown till ett (jag antar 720 liters?) med gott samvete.. standardmåtten är ju 60X60X200 och en 50cm clown (vilket i sig inte är helt vanligt) skulle ha det bättre hos dig än på djuraffären eftersom
de flesta här tycker att ett 400 liters kar är jättestort, alltså slutar det oftast med att de dör i sin egen avföring och dålig vattenkvalitet. bor du i stockholm finns det ett 960 liters kar på akvariekällaren för 1500 spänn om du frågar ägaren (60X60X225), om inte det lockar duger det med ett 720, skaffa en Fluval FX5a, en sjysst ramp, blästersand från biltema och lite sten så klarar han sig förmodligen livet ut. landar på typ 4000!

Naah bor utanör gbg :/, har tänkt mig något runt 720 liters + iaf . Tack för tipsen! Nu ska jag bara få fasan att pröjsa LOL! Eller så blir det till att jobba som fan

Grejjen är att jag varit lite rädd för att faktiskt skaffa en clown i och med att dom KAN bli nästan en meter... nu verkar ju det inte vara så vanligt iof, men vad gör man om det händer... heh, folk kommer ju bli sura om vi snackar en massa svenska här, man vet ju hur störande det är

It might be becuase I'm a girl, but I think that's so cute^^! Now, I want a female, heh. You're lucky to know what sex yours is, sometimes I think that's the most annoying part of keeping fishes.. most of the time you don't know wether to refere to them as a he or a she.

like 4 years now..almost 5 now...but i got them wen they were ABOUT 6-7inches so i cheated a bit...

haha hey liz...i did post in that thread AGESSS ago...i dont have any good pics of my CK cause they r always hiding under my bridge in the pond...BUTTTT i did post that youtube video in the largest CK thread....the vid shows me catching my CK in a huge net screaming 3 FEET 3FEET! lol...im sure a lot of u have seen it....if u wana see it just type in : TLkmDN on youtube...and find the 3 feet CK vid...peace..
