Doberman Pinscher or German Shepherd?

This is correct. Same observations between the two. It's why I recommend dobies more than gsd if anyone wants a guard dog. While it is up to the owner how the dog was raised, generally, gsds seem moodier than the dobies. If you insist, Belgian Malinois are another choice and also much better than GSDs. I've kept one and he was always alert and extremely loyal.

Get a white Shepard they're awesome and pretty rare tho theres like 4 on my block .. most of them have been rescued ...here's a pic of my last dog "aryan"

German shepherd they are the best dogs you can buy. Mine just passes away two weeks ago 
but he was 10 so he lived long for a purebred championship bloodline shepherd as they have more curved back legs which make their hips go quicker than normal. Oh and by the way his ear is bent down one way because when he was little he had an ear infection and it made him 10x cuter so we left it instead of draining all the blood out of it. But he was the best dog ever and he saved my life a number of times and he was there for me when I was always sad. I will miss him so much . But get a shepherd they are the best!

Damn both are amazing breeds, I work at a shelter and have had several shepherds come through and they are great dogs, under a year and over five, and they walk the same on a leash like it's their job alert, and looking intense. The dobermans sound awesome, my brother wants one, once he has a house, and you guys are starting to convince me that I need to get one for the pack.
i love all breeds ....... love the sheperds too......but nothing compares to a well raised dobie...... they are the most loyal.......... 
I would say German Shepherd .. From my expeirience they are not nearly as nervous. They are very loyal and smart. This is my 1.5 yr old Chec. Shepherd
The OP never mentioned his level of dog experiance as Red Devil asked? Which in this case is very important.
Dont get a male of either breed if you dont have any large breed, dominant dog, type experiance,
they can be much more of a handfull.
If you are an inexperianced dog owner, (dont know what your doing) the shelter probably wont or should not release this type of dog to you anyway, because they know, chances are the dog will only end up back in a shelter, or you will end up in the emergency room.
