Very nice growth rate. I had two that a friend of mine gave me at about 5". In a year and a half they were 3 feet long! They grow ridiculously fast. I fed mine shrimp and catfish nuggets, as well as the occasional feeders to keep them in shape. lol

and gator gars are somewhat unique compared to the other species in that they are total garbage disposals...individuals of other gar species will convert fast here and there, but as a species, gators convert faster than the rest by far--
