The first thing I would suggest is a 50% water change. If you have container large enough fill it with tank water, add one teaspoon if methalene blue per 5 gallons of water and one package of API Triple sulfa per ten gallons of water. Let the eel stay in this for an hour. Do this bath and water change every day for 5 days.

Your local fish store or Petsmart/Petco should have both.

Unfortunately they did not. Guess I'll be ordering them online. The treatment seems to be working. All of the spots are shrinking and getting darker. I realized I can't give parameters right now. My kit uses little tubes....not strips. Well my fire eels tank is red from the antibiotics. And my payaras temporary hospital tank is blue from the ick treatment. I just got the fire eel maybe a week before Christmas. I've had the Payara for a while now though. I'm not sure if the ick came from the eel or from feeders. Maybe both of the things I'm treating came from the feeders. Always get them from the same place though. Never had any issues before.

Definatly anchor worm. It came in with somthing, most likly the feeders which I would stop using. Use the Meth blue at half dose and add Furan2 & Metro. Treat for ten days. You will not need the Triple Sulfa unless you develope a secondary infection. The Furan, MB and Metro should get rid of the Anchor worm. Keep the water clean inbetween treatments. Follow the same routine I outlined above with the meds suggested in this post. Treat the main tank with metro and a complete gravel vacuming and filter cleaning.
