Does anyones fish keeping hoby get them in trouble

my mom yells at me every time i ask for another tank and usually chews me up after water changes/ "Your room smells like mildew!!!"

Mildew haha, thats ok mum it covers up the smell of my ice pipe lol. I've been showing my Mum some of the answers ive received on this thread now and she is seeing things in a whole new light, keep em coming guys

Thats because before I set up my first tank my Mom came up with the brilliant idea of putting a towel on the dresser under the tanks. considering that each tank is 4 feet off the ground and weighs about 20 lbs the towel has never been changed for the 2 mos the tanks have been up...

I ditched my girlfriend last Friday night for a couple hours to go clean my tank and give one of my fish a salt bath. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy. But, I'm glad I got my priorities straight.

my mom allways gets on me and says whos gonna pay to replace the walls if we get black mold from all the water in the house my girlfriend gets on to me because she says if i can affored to buy fish stuff I can affored to take her out more

Do you guys get in trouble with family due to your fish keeping hobby, mines were not too stoked at first when the space taking up gradually got larger as well as trapsing through the house with buckets of water lol

about the buckets off water I bought one of those long hoses that hooks to your sink and bought more hose for it so I can take it to any of my tanks in my basement Its alot faster and easier than caring buckets

My parents weren't to bad. My dad didn't like the idea of Oscar's, he wanted me to get some Natives, so i did in the end, as long as they were in my room, its all good. Then I got into the Pythons, my dad didn't like the Idea, saying that I would be sick of them in a month. That was at the start of the year, now I have 3, getting another pair soon

But i've a got a 10lt tank, gonna get a pair of Betta's for it But gotta get some money first.

Yeah you should put those pennies away and do what you like, its awesome when you finally have somehting you have been looking towards.
