My dad was never too pleased that I had sooo many tanks (3) now that I have my own place I have 30+ tanks. I had so much light and humidity on the window that last winter the cops came to see if I had a grow op in my basment.

That's actually REALLY good cover!

I probably spend 50% of each paycheck on fish stuff. And I am a nocturnal water changer, and my parents dont particulary like that. My mother keeps getting angry about me leaving fish stuff in the batherroom- I just need a sink in my room. My 4 tanks are all in my room, so they cant complain too much, I got a smaller bed so i could get a bigger tank. I just need a tank/bed- like a bunk bed, but with a tank on the bottom! I bet they would kill me if they knew how much I spend on fish. $500 in fish/products from My Petsmart alone this year. But like you guys said- I could be doing drugs, or dating creepy men, or whoring on the street (which I might have to do if my goldfish keep eating the way they are now) instead- Its just a harmless hobby

My wife says i cant have more tanks 3 is enough so i agreed. But she didnt mention size. So i replaced my 30 long,30 tall and 40 long with a 75 gallon bedroom tank a 125 livingroom tank and a 300 gallon Man Room tank in the basement..She said no more than 3,,i have 3 LOL the 75 is burried in our stuff or it would be bigger..

Been in numerous amounts of trouble with my parents over the years with fish.

When they rebuilt the patio many years ago while i was still in school it 'had' to incorporate a 5,000g Koi pond (1,000g just wasn't enough!)

I got into keeping tropical fish when i'd 'left' home, but because work moved me around alot I smiled at them nicely and they let me keep my small 15g tank at theirs. Then as the tinfoil barbs i had grew the second, much larger tank arrived. They weren't happy. The only space suitable for it was right beside the tv, then mum started complaining again because they'd put on a movie they'd rented and spend the entire film watching my Green Terror pilling stones infront of a plant pot instead.

They also got in trouble from me though. A house move and a couple of tanks later I had 2 Oscars and a Jaguar in one of my tanks. The 2 Oscars both died about the same time so ended up with a tank with just a Jaguar in and had another larger tank with lots of small community fish in. Then I spent 3 years working overseas, and during one phone conversation with my mum she asked if they could get rid of one the tanks by putting the jaguar in with the others. 'Only if you want the others to get eaten' was my reply. She thought i was joking. I'm down to one tank now, a very well fed Jaguar, and moved him out of their house.

No my fish keeping keeps me out of trouble. And as a bonus my wife enjoys it as well. She keeps asking what are we going to put in the empty 55g.;)

It did some what till I got my wife a tank. Now she lets me buy what I want as do I for her. If I go for a bigger tank though we do talk it over to make sure all is fine money wise but other then that no trouble really. Do need to get rid of one of my 220g though so I can get back to making my 400g cause the 220g is where the 400g needs to go. No more room right now. 10 tanks around the house 4 are down right now. She has 3 tanks I have 5. Both my sons have a tank in there room. My 5 year old knows how to do water changes and feed his fish. He started with a 20L. We worked a deal cause he wanted a bigger tank. He did everything and we got him a 55g. He picked out his fish. The boy knows more then most of the fish store people do about fish. My other son is only 14 months but LOVES the fish tanks. He gets really excited when we go to the LFS. Future MonsterFishKeepers in the works. I would be more then happy if both wanted more tanks when they get older. Our new house will have the room:headbang2 Most of are friends do think we are a little :screwy: in the head though.
