I have no future goals at the moment, no aspirations etc. My Mum wants me to continue schooling until year 12. My dad just wants me to have a good life, and for me to be happy. I'm unsure what I want to do. I don't want to finish school at year 12, then look back on what I've done, then realize "****, I'm not going to university...." but then again I don't want to finish school after this year and think "Oh man, I should have finished school, I want to go to uni..."

That's problem number one.

Problem number two is, I don't have any motivation to do well in my school work.. well I do, to an extent, but I've always lived by " a pass in the subject is good enough " so when I get my report card back last year all my parents saw were C's and B's. And they weren't happy with this. but I have no motivation for me to get A's, so I'm only putting my 70% in rather then my 110% in. So I had this Idea, what if My parents pay 50-100 dollars off a bass guitar for me every time I get an A on assessment, That would give me something to strive towards. I donno what I want to work towards in my life. I'm pretty lost. any criticism would be nice.

Oh, let me clarify. I'm not a dick at school, I get my work done, I certainly don't waste my time in class, I don't leave at 7:30 am and get home at 4pm for nothing. I'm not a dead beat either, just I'm loosing motivation in everything.

Asking you guys if this a good idea before I set forth and ask my parents.

Also any criticism about what to do with my life.

well I explained to my mother, and she said it was reasonable.

yes yes blackmail your parents to get you something for getting A's haha if they loved you they'd do that right? haha

you know i am a stright A student and i didn't ask for nothing! But i made light hints to my parents about what others were getting so when results day came i got my scholarship they bought me the fish tank.

you have to go to uni otherwise there's no point living! lol Jobs are hard enough to get and without a degree your going to be poor, also uni is fun! Don't you have to go to college first?

not in Australia. it's not black mail. ultimately they can't do anything about my grades, it's me, ultimately it's me who gets the crap marks or the good marks, they know this. I just explained to them that I don't have any motivation to get the A's. I get an A, big woop. it's an A. I don't see what makes a difference if I get a C. A just means I'm doing well in the subject, C means I'm doing soundly, and if I get a D then I'm not doing well enough. IMHO a sound is all I need. a Sound will get me where I want, whatever I want to do (my main dilemma is my big brother completed school last year, and my parents want me to be as good as him, that's all they do, they give me **** about "your brother getting better marks then you when he was in your grade" . To be honest, I don't know what I want to be. It's not like I'm going to be a brain surgeon or a biologist or a teacher or anything.... and at this point I don't know what I want to do with my life.

Ultimately if you decide not to finish school... And have Opportunity for Uni.. well.. Welcome to BLUE collar work :) I mean you really don't like money do you :) Cause you probably wont be seeing much of it anyway :D

Not that school and Uni will make you rich... But man they sure help sometimes.... School is something that never ends for some. :) I am not one of those.. So i work everyday :D

There are however many things you can do without school... Still... Quitting basic school early is Kind of on the lower end of The Brain class in my opinion :) It takes someone with brains and dedication to ones self to finish school.

But any old Dumb A ;) Can quit early :D

Oh ya.. Sounds like a good deal :)

Lol, that's an extensive use of smiles. :D

anyway.

I can continue school, complete my senior years of high school, which sounds stupid right now, because I don't know what I want to be, and what I'll be happy doing, and then at the end of it all I could think well that was a useless two years of my life, where I could have been learning something else (prolly not useless, but you get the idea)

or I can finish after this year, go the blue collar line of work (my preferred) not earn as much as I could if I went white collar (not my preferred) but I'll be still happy (possibly).

I need to start making these decisions now. I don't want to go through my senior years not knowing what I want to do.

if you don't mind me asking, what's your occupation?

oh let me clarify for people that don't know how the Queensland education system works.

I need to complete 12 years of schooling, I can leave after 10 years then do 2 years of schooling somewhere else, like as an apprentice. I can leave school once I'm 16 or leave school after year 10, and get a full time job.

I'm currently in year 10.

Well as a collee student that no longer wants to go i will say to you that you are making a bad choice IMO. you NEED to get get through highschool. College or not highschool is more than you know when you apply for a job they look for things like highschool diploma. that means that you have drive in life to better your self. If you have to check no on that box it means more to them than you know. finish highschool you can always go back to college but this is your one chance to det your highschool diploma.

Thanks for that. I can also complete my year 12 at tafe, but I'm not sure that will get me a highschool diploma. there's a lot of uncertainty with this.
I can tick that box no, saying I do not have a highschool diploma, but I could say I completed another 2 years of education as an apprentice in -.

I still have alot to think about, and a long time before It's time to choose so don't think I'm going to choose over night. :)
