no i didnt see ich, but they were flashing-breathing fast-and being motionless most of the time.
didnt thinkn of that.. would .25 ammonia actually make fish become loathless?well ill do about 15 gallons of waterchange tomm. and i really really need to get the beam up in the basement so i can finally fill my tank up all the way!
if i take all the gravel out will that also help me with ammonia ( seeing as how crud builds up in gravel )

Less gravel means less weight which means fill your tank up if you can. I would keep checking the ammonia since you removed the gravel which holds a lot of bacteria so you might get an ammonia spike.
