DON'T buy Marineland Stealth Pro heaters!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am personally asking the Moderators and/or Admin to Sticky this thread. Obviously there are some issues with Marineland Stealth heaters. With the thread bouncing between page 1 and page 3, then eventually going off to oblivion, not one thing will be accomplished. But, if it is kept where all members new and old can read it, then maybe word will get out. Maybe someone with a conscience and the power to make changes at Marineland will realize that the $10 profit they made off this piece of junk cost a fellow hobbyist several hundred dollars.

We're just a group of hobbyists, both Customers and Vendors. If one person, even two had a problem with an item, then it's just tough luck. But when several are having the same issue, I think MFK should step in and step up.

Also, please sticky this thread so that other MFK members who are running this heater get a heads up they may want to consider replacing it ASAP.

Thanks...

my maintenance on the tank is i never let the water get below the temp dial. And when i water change i turn them both off. I had them both set to 82 degrees then again i only had this heater for two weeks. thats two water changes and i never let the water get below the dials. Marineland better get it straight before they end up with a class action law suit or worse, someone gets fired.

All it takes is 30 people from what I have heard....

i've had 2 older stealth heaters before the light and new design, and they work amazing, they are 3+ years old now i believe. But i also have 3 of the newer ones, one of them died (wouldn't heat) after a week of use. My other ones are still going strong, so we will have to see.
Mine sit in a sump, so i never unplug them.

I am glad so many people are happy with their Ebo-Jager and I am am happy to be the first to recommend it.:headbang2

Ebo Jager is one of the best. I guess 'any news is not good news' in terms of Stealth. I had to buy a Stealth recently because the LFS did not have a larger Ebo Jager in stock. It got burnt up when the sump's water level dropped. It didn't have any shut down design(poor design). I didn't have any lost. I was in part at fault but it shouldn't stay on when such a situation arose. It's going back in the box and going to be returned. They do have a life time warranty. Also, my LFS lets me take it in for an exchange. They will just return it the vendor. That is the advantage of dealing with the LFS. Those discount sellers online won't do that for you. I may get credit for an Ebo Jager instead.
