Stay away from Marineland Stealth Pro heaters, they are defective. The ones with black rubber coating with epoxy inside and LED lights. Had mine for two weeks and two nights ago it split open leaking some sort of lubricant into my reef tank :WTF:. White smoke, like fog but smells like burnt rubber, was covering the surface of the water. My entire room stunk. All my corals, live rocks and live sand died off. Had a fish ($80 Desjardini Red Sea Sailfin Tang) also die from the contamination. I have to throw all the corals, live rock and live sand away. That alone cost me at least $700. Managed to save the rest of the fish but they don't look like they're going to make it :angryfire.

I've contacted Marineland corporation based in Cincinnati, Ohio by e-mail. Still waiting for a reply. I'll update as soon as Marineland responds.

Holy crap mine just did today Also What the hell!! i swear mine leaked a little bit i got it out in time tho and it got extremly hot but the fish are fine i caught mine before it started to blow up And i dont have saltwater i have Freshwater fish and they seem to be doing just fine now. Hopefully! But seriously do you know what the warranty stand is?? like if it cracks is it still covered??

Many people have had this problem. I think they know damn well these heaters split open and leak stuff out everywhere.

They royally pissed me off now cause it was working great and now its busted i swear they better replace this!!

crap.. how many watts was it? I have 2 of these :S

mine was the 300 watt for 90-100 gallons and it split down the seem of the heater and white stuff came out for a second and i unplugged it and grabbed it with my bare hands it was F****** HOT! way more hot than it should be so idk what happened

I have these in ALL of my tanks... I have yet to have an issue with any of them. Now you all have me worried, as I just ordered 2 more last night! :nilly:

The ONLY issue I have ever had was with a super old stealth heater... it ended up sending electrical pulses through the water and killed my new breeding pair of inkfin Calvus.

Make sure u get pictures of every fish and coral with a ruler or something else for scale. They usually refund you the price of every fish.
