Sounds like too much work. Why not just add water to the main tank and have it over flow to your sump?(prime first, no problems)Luckily none of this has happened to me yet. I fill my 400 through the sump, so I have to monitor it turning the pump on and off while it fills. Worst thing that has happened so far is that I overfilled the sump just a touch and the bioballs started floating. OMG![]()

Mine was when I did a water change and filled up my tank as you did @2am in the morning or so. Just got back from the club. I passed out while doing the water change and woke up to most of my fish swimming on their side.
