Dont drink and fill...

I just did it on Sunday night. Had a can of heineken with asian sausage and was watching the new pirates of the caribbean movie with family during my 180g fill. I was sitting at the dinner table which was only 3' from the tank side-way. The water was getting to the top and at the same time the movie was getting towards the end where it really got my attention. And you know what happened right? I started to hear the rain drop noise and went like sh*t...it wasn't bad though, just a wet floor with about 2-3 gal of water.

I never learned...

Once when I used to work in an aquatics shop, we got the delivery in at about 19:30ish. I can't remember what fish they were but I was siphoning the water from the system into the bags in the poly box via a piece of airline. It is a automated system with auto top up which is was a good/bad thing. I went around let all the other various fish out and which were all at the opposite end of the shop. I then thought ideal, fish delivery done. Home time it is :) That was a Tuesday. I had wednesday off. The next day at 8:45 I recieved a panicked phone call from another member of staff which went to my answer phone. So when I checked my phone at 10:00ish I had a panicked message with the sound of a wet/dry vac. They forgot to end the call, to busy I guess haha after about 15mins i ended to call :S , Oops!!

Oh and we had recently had carpet layed in the shop which was slightly discoloured after the incident and all the wood flooring warped !

some pretty crazy stories. mine definitely pales in comparison!
i've only had 1 incident of overfilling my tank during a water change, got caught up in a movie and noticed the leaking water sound, only got a couple gallons on the carpet so it wasn't a total nightmare.

i did have an old sump that had some design flaws, and 3 or 4 times in the course of 2 months, it overflowed about 60 gallons of tank water onto the basement floor, luckily i'd already pulled up the carpet so it was only concrete.

i did have a tank leak and had to move my fish to a new tank, in a rush i got my ID sharks fin spine caught in a net, and without thinking i grabbed him to pull him out and took his spines to my fingers and palm of my hand. my god that throbbed for a good while.
