LBF, you've got a good heart. The trick is to turn intentions into actions. Some people have trouble making that happen. The reasons are many. Some just have no good role model. Others have difficulty with motivation, organization or even setting goals. I was raised without guidance and it wasn't until my 21st year of life that things began to make some sense. So hang in there, set some reasonable goals and follow through, practice getting up early and getting to bed on time. If you can make a good foundation for your day, it's much easier to build on than a day of 'freedom' that sends you to bed knowing you should have done more.

I don't know how much if this 'life skills' stuff you can use, but it's worth looking into. I didn't think I wanted anybody telling me how to live my life until I realized they were showing me how to be successful. Hang in there, man. I'm rooting for you.

There is always the genetic thing you got from your dad. Any possibility it's affecting functions other people just take for granted?

my 45 year old mother in law just got her ged- you might be able to do it too.

None of us really care, we're strangers on the Internet...

While it may be true that when we are off the internet we don't think about anyone from here... when we are here some of us do give real advice to people that we 'know' here.

I think you need to learn to compromise with your family...offer to pay the water bill, if you want to do more water changes. Explain how you prefer the wood stacked, and that it's easier on you if they do it xyz. Ask what they expect of you, maybe sit down and have a good talk about your concerns. Nothing is accomplished by running out the second you get frustrated, and don't burn your bridges. Perhaps you can secure a job, and get a routine going before you move out again.

You don't seem happy in any situation, personally I think you need to stay put until you figure out what's making you unhappy. Obviously it's not your living situation, or you would have stayed at one of the places you lived. I don't know you at all, but maybe something else in your life needs to be looked at versus where you are living. Any possibility of taking some classes towards your GED or something?

If you're paying that much, then you have more than enough rights to do water changes weekly atleast. As that is a few dollars per month...
