Hey fellas these three fish have really struck my attention lately and find my self planing to acquire one of these beauties!

From experience just wondering if anyone can tell me:

Which of the three seem to be most owner responsive?
Least likely to be skittish?
Biggest you have seen in an aquarium?

Forgive me if I missed the answers in the sticky.

Never owned Dorado but my Armatus begs at the front of the tank when it's feeding time and he will snatch smelt right out of my fingers. He just about got my fingers a few times. Atf knows it's feeding time but he just does circles and grabs the smelt as it drops down and it drives the RTG nuts as the VATF is 100x faster then him at getting to the food! LOL

Nice!! I glad to hear that as I am really leaning towards Armatus :)

Armatus are rely cool and my favorite fish atf are jumpy and skittish not rely a fan. but ive never owned a dorado i never rely cared for their looks so i never tried one

Armatus are fun to keep. Great character.
ATF are my fav and Vittatus to be specific. Colors, active, character and the shift of gears is impressive.
Dorado's have ADHD to the 3rd power. Way to hyper for me and it looks like a sardine for the first few feet till it gets the nice gold color.

Ive owned gatf, vatf and multiple dorados. Dorados are by far my favorite predator. Aggressive personality, constant movement, very hardy, easy to feed, fast growth rate, and excellent awareness of their surroundings. They aren't jumpy or skittish. Just my 2 cents

Do you enjoy risk? Like everyday wondering if you're going to come home to a dead fish and have no friggin clue why? IF you do then ATF and Armatus are right up your alley..... Plenty of documented cases of this by the very people posting in this thread. I believe there's absolutely nothing you can do about it either. Do we still keep them? Sure, do we enjoy them? Sure? Does the risk ever go away? Nope.

Only one of these fish is what I would consider bullet proof.... And for that reason alone I'm with KNH.

I've kept all these preds, and can tell you it's pretty neat seeing all of them in action, but in my opinion the most impressive is watching a Dorado smash a frog off the surface. lol. Love my Dodos.

Biggest in Aquarium for a Dorado that I'm aware of is just shy of 30"

Personable- I'd put Dorado right there with Armatus. But I have a wolf that's way more personable then either. Speaking of, why no consideration for Wolves?

If allowed in ur country,go for gaint snakehead (owner responsive as well as aggressive)

Are Aimara worth the hype?
I usually see youtube vids of Aimara like most black wolves, chilling. Do they actually swim the tank or spend most of the time chilling till they get hungry?

Get one and find out! lol ;)

They do chill. Like most ambush preds. But I can tell you that they aren't the typical Mala (or in my case Iguaza)

Honestly it'll depend on tank mates. My big guy used to just sit and hover mid water. Then I added the Lacerdae, now he's not out much unless he's hungry or its lights out. Lights out roles reverse, Lucy chills and he's out. My little Aimara is always out in plain site, regardless of the lights. Just hovering waiting for Armatus punking time (feeding time) where he asserts his dominance despite being much smaller then the Armatus.

IF I could only have 1 fish it would be an Aimara. IF they are the dominant fish in the tank they come right up to you as soon as you walk up and beg like a puffer does.....

Being an ambush pred they are without a doubt the best choice for our glass boxes.....
