IT can do with anything iMO
ive kept them with jags, pbass, arowana, rays
plus look amazing.
i suggest,
Raphs and dats with some black bar silver dollars

i have my dats with a asian arowana and no issues.
should work with anything aslong as they cant fit in his mouth
u can get IT
indonesian Tiger
Ntt- Northern Thailand tiger
NGT New guinea tiger
ST- impossible to get PRICEY $$$$$$
AT- american tiger
i suggest it due to price and they look as good as Sts imo..

If you're getting Dats I'd stay away from any kind of Payara or Cuda...... Dats are pigs and will spook skiddish Characins at feeding time. Then they don't eat.... Leads to problems with the skiddish, and fat dats.

ive rarely heard of dorado freaking out at all.
they may be very active, but they arent suicide bumpers like ATFs.
i know several who have large dorados in tanks even smaller than 300g,and they are doing very well.
like DB said, keep them in smaller grow outs when keeping several.
that way all they do is shoal.

Yeah your right about dorado's and how they can control there excitement, however channarox do you think I can house tha one dorado for life in the 300gal, because thats what I really want , but don't want to get rid of him later

I think you can, probably the worst that will happen is it's growth will stunt.I don't know how you feel about that but in the wild these fish can reach almost four feet in length,I just don't see that happening in a 300.

Ask the guy with the 27 incher how that fish would do in a 300..... I'd be scared for both the fish and the tank.

This all boils down to personal fishkeeping prefrences wayyyy more then anything else. Some people cram them in whatever they have regardless, others try to provide ample space for any of thier fish.

You would be fine for a while in the 300. If it gets to big or too crazy for the 300 and you get attatched then just build a pond, get a rubbermaid, or a larger tank. You'd have a while to figure it out.

Or like I said earlier, if you like Dorado but don't like max size then just get a shoal of Brycon. Similar attitude, half the size. I believe there's a member over on the other site that has a successful shoal of them...... Might wanna look into those.

i agree with DB.
i personally would have no problem putting one in a 300 for a very long time, they dont grow very fast when theyre big and ive never heard of one even hitting 3 feet in captivity.
some would prefer bigger...some dont mind it at all keeping a fish the same length as the width of the tank.
brycon are definitely cool, but dont have that predator look like dorados.
