dose this look like hole in head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Make sure you do plenty of water changes. I've had oscars and the biggest problem was hole in the head. It's caused by high ammonia levels. I love oscars but they eat everything so the ammonia leves will be high. Hope this helps,The Doctor

I've got the water params at 0.0.5

This is your nitrate level?

May I inquire as to what brand your test kit is, I was not aware of any kits on the market (other than digital probes) that give that degree of accuracy.

im guessing that is Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate

I've used metro in the water, and also in the form of medicated flake food...but I believe the water conditions more than anything will help most

Ideally, Keep Nitrates at 10ppm's, very the diet of the bass, feed 1/2 amount of food that you are currently feeding, keep water clean and also keep water clean.

1) Do 20% water changes every three days
2) Add AQUARIUM salt (1 table spoon per 10gal)
3)Bump temp to 85-ish
4) Remove carbon

How does carbon affect hole in the head ?
