dovii and 5 spot jewels??

9-12? he chasing the 5 star around now lol I was trying to see if a more socialized young dovii would do better when it gets older my big guy has to stay alone

I have 2 H. Fempongi's about 3-3.5" and 2 Dovii the same size... The male H. Fempongi is rippin everyone up... My H. Fasciatus male when he was 3-3.5" kill 5 dovvi the same size... He has a rap sheet.

If it were full grown or even half grown fish it would have been the other way around. That tank would have been too small for a male dovii anyway.

Yes most African cichlids do. Either way both sp. would be better if in their own tanks to avoid fish getting killed. A 300g would make a nice dovii pair tank.

i havent done it, would love to do a jewel tank with one prized pair one day tho.... butti pair and red jewels would be a safer bet i guess, im happy with just the one large tank atm anyhow. dovii might be for sale if anyone in the uk is interested?

You made a good decision not to as from my experience with dovi they would end up killing them at some point in the future. You have seom really nice fish there, if you do sell them i hope you find a knowledagble owner to take them on. if you have any fry you want sell let me know..
