dovii or not dovii?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe, bacon really ain't/shouldn't be good for em tho dude lol...
Maybe the pigs were steroid fed!-)

I did but I gave away mine Dovii recently due to it grow rate and being a psycho killer lol
it's only took me to get him from 1.5 inch to 12 inches less than a year...more like 10 months! I fed 3 times a day and 30% daily water change and pothos in sump using RO water so Nitrate always below 5ppm or hardly register (0ppm) in API test kit.

That's probably why right there, I do 80% pw on the 1100l.
He has always been surrounded by larger aggressive fish too so although not attacked he was kept submissive.
Had a growth spurt lately, hopefully he is a smaller specimen anyway then I won't have to upgrade, 17-18 inch would be perfect!-)

Yeah it could be the steroids that are making them big, but if it's fine for humans it should be fine for fish. I still think it's a key ingredient in their diet

I very strongly disagree. A fish's digestive system is completely different than a human's. last time I checked pigs don't live in water.

I was actually joking, please no derail lol.

There's 100s of aquatic or semi aquatic insects about, and while a dovii might on the very odd occasion take a small mammal, judging by reports on the stomach content of wild caught dovii it's a very very rare thing.

Stop it, start a damd thread on bacon you wanna talk about it!
