No they wouldn't, that was suppose to be joke(well to me it is)
But here's a fact, they are known as tank busters...do to a fact that they will ram at the tank so hard they literally put a big scratch onto the tank. As far as I researched and known of. But there are no reports of them breaking tanks yet. I think the tank breakers belongs in the marine category...mantis shrimp :D okay back to the topic.

no that is funny not a Dovii!!!!

wow

A fish well over rated-people stop lieing and tell the truth-most folks talk about myths of what they hear about Dovii-but from REAL exp-this fish is over rated in size and aggression!!!!

pretty cruel to put a dovii in a 75 gallon for life.
a 180 would be more reasonable.
and that's the bare bare bare minimum for the fish.
a 75 gallon would last about a year and then he'd need a much larger tank.
if he were in a 180 gallon tank, he wouldn't be able to have any tank mates.
he'd be way to aggressive.

full grown, your dovii would be 20-25" and would attack the glass of the 180, 180
being to small, with to thin of glass, you'd have a mess!

something much smaller would be more reasonable.

you could do a managuense for a period of time, 2-3 years in a 75, but even then it would be small and you'd have to upgrade to atleast a 125 6' tank.

Dmann summed it up pretty well IMO.

To be honest i am tired of hearing how bad this fish is!!!!! Please my have gotten punked by Trimac, Red Devil, Black Belt, Umbee-true monster!!!, Escondido, Red Bay Snook, Pike Cichlid, yeah an Oscar, Barred Amarillo-supposed to be passive!!!!, and an Jack Dempsey-please son-75 is more than enough room-get ready to fall asleep!!!!
:ROFL:Since you seem so be so knowledgeable on dovii, I'll take a stab in the dark here and guess that your experience has been with juvenile dovii like in this thread of yours 9mths ago that you still haven't posted any pics in yet.

I think shamrock dipped a little into satan's lettuce before posting...

treezilla, if you were thinking about that Gt you saw, you could keep that in a 75 for life and it will be fine. What type of filtration are you thinking of running?

yeah i have never really owned any fishes just dogs. what would i need to make a good suitable home for my fish? Filter/plants/rocks/etc

watch baltons video of how hard a dovii can hit the glass.

75gal, have you ever considered getting 5-6 salvinis and wait for a pair. Then sell the rest? Salvinis breeding colors are amazing!

ive had a completly psyco female dovii who was attacking the glass at 8-10cm (2.5-3inches i think) she had a 6ft tank to her self at that size, she was just awesome and ive had a male that is resonably docile cubanb has it now and its breeding with his female

the aggression is down to each fishs own personality, most get angry some dont

I have had my 6th Dovii and they S-----!!!!!! Please way over rated size and aggression-i wanted to buy a bass but didnt cause my Dovii was too small!!!

Where are all your 6 dovi? They have a long lifespan. Maybe your dovi was too small because you have a tendency to get rid of all your fish.............
