Which Avatar fish?
My old Dovii was 22".
The new picture, of the "La Ceiba" is approx. 5".

22" huh.. have a pic next to a ruler? largest I've seen on here is 20". He looks big but don't think he looked that big.

Negative, the fish has passed on, I do have a picture of it in the tank on the floor side by side with 12" tiles.

That is sick! That thing looks like it would seriously try and take down your cat haha I dont know anything about these fish, but thats impressive. Is there anything they can be kept with?

a dude on the perth cichlid society posted this. it is his mates dovii. unfortunateley it scratched its eye and healed up badly... the idiot killed it cause he didn't want a less than perfect fish
anyway here it is at 20". it was only 2 and half years old too. would have grown alot more

Heh mines one of those skittish ones lol just took his hidy hole away so I can see him properly amazed at how much hes grown. Not sure if its a good or bad idea not having some where for him to hide? Was hoping it might make him "man up" a bit

Who? Been on the site a long time and the biggest I've seen was 20-21". Not saying there aren't bigger, just saying in most cases people guess on the size but when actually measuring they all seemed to be right around 20". I'd love to see some pics of a measured 22"+ beast

It'll stress him out and he'll start hiding around the filter / heater, possibly getting burnt if thats the case. How big is he?

Keep him comfortable and give him places to hide. mine started out as being scared and always hiding. Now he's a complete maniac!
