Down to 5...

Idk, because cichlids will attack another if they notice its weak or dying so I wouldn't say that's definitely the cause. He doesn't look beat up enough for that to be the cause imo.

Ill probably never know lol. Im gonna just treat the tank again just to be safe but I dont think they are sick at all.

This is exactly why I only buy bass 6" and larger. I would love to be able to grow them out as that's what I enjoy, but I'm 0 for 5 with Juvies and until I can dedicate a tank to them, I'm not gonna try it anymore.

Ive only lost 2 of 7 fish total but I probably wont buy them this small anymore.

Juvies are definitely delicate....some people can raise them some can't.....from reading your threads I'm pretty sure you take great care of your bass but this is part of the game, I've lost a few before I found out what works best for me which is why I won't hesitate to pay $150+ for a bass I want even if it is a juvie. I bought my azuls last year at $250ea and I bought four, and my ipatinga was $250 at 4-5" and I don't regret buying any of them.

X2 I have found for me smaller tanks (I use a 10 gallon) works great, moderate feedings, daily 50% water changes especially during pellet training, weekly filter cleanings (sponge filters work great for this) I have only lost a juvie doing it like this. I keep them there until 4.5/5" then off to another grow out tank 40 gallon @ the 6/7" in the large tank with partition until 10" then turned loose with the big boys

It's all about dedication... you put time and effort in, and gain experience out of it. Guys like Gangster/Bassguy/Hulon/Ken have years into this which is why I respect their opinions and try to learn what I can from them.

Blah blah blah- You posted in the wrong section. This should be in the "Someone who cares" section ;-)

Hmm this morning another fish was behind the rock where I found the last dead one but this one was alive. I took the big rock out cause they might be gettin wedged behind it and the glass but I think this might prove bullying a bit more. Like there getting chased to the point where they are forced to hide and they get stuck. This weekend I think I'm gonna do some rearranging and take it all out there and have it bare bottom again that way only the strong will survive and they will all have a chance.
