Was it the Current T5 HO Light? I order one from That Fish Place. The light was out of stock when I ordered but they got a few in a couple of days later. The freshwater bulb was bad, they sent me a new one and a week later the whole fixture stopped working. Now I have to wait a few weeks until they are in stock again. Not really related to F&S but if it's the same light there seems to be a shortage. I think Marine Depot has the best customer service of all the big online fish stores, but recently all of their prices went up.

The glass top being shipped was an important detail. Get on the phone and keep escalating up to managers until the shipping price is corrected and don't be pissed when talking to them or you'll get no where.

Funny thing about google ads is they take keywords from the posts to target ads. So, in a thread bashing DR F&S google is puttingup their ads.

i dont like Dr.F/S much either, I think Big Al have generally lower prices and always had what i wanted no problem
 
This appears to be a common thing with a lot of the on-line suppliers. When I buy, I always call ane verify that they have the item in stock. Apparently fish supply manufacturers scuk at keeping up with demand.
 
HAHA, I ordered a rena xp3 and instead they sent me a plastic 21" plant....Of course I called and they sent me the filter, apologized, and let me keep the plant so I'm happy.
 
I went on the website this morning and saw my light wasn't on backorder!! I got excited!!

But never received a shipping e-mail... so I call to see what is up.

They got lights in... but not enough to cover all the lights on back order. So... I have to wait another 11 days (if they come in).

Which is weird... why the would they say the light is not on backorder on the website when they know they know don't even have enough to cover what they have already sold???? surely they are not lying to get people to buy during there two week sale... surely not
 
That sucks.

I placed 2 orders from them early in March. The 2nd order didn't show up on time so I emailed their customer support asking about it. I got a response saying they contacted the postal service and were told they never received the package, so they fedex'ed out a 2nd shipment with expedited shipping at no cost to me...which I thought was real good customer service.

Somehow both packages arrived on the same day. I contacted their CSR through email again and they said they would mail me a shipping label to attach to the duplicate shipment so I can mail it back to them at no cost to me. Problem is its a big inconvenience for me to take the package in to a fedex drop-off store...so I haven't done it yet :grinno: Will this weekend probably...

But anyway, back to my point:
After this headache of not getting package on time and having to mail a package back to them...I contacted their CSR through email again, saying that if they would give me free shipping, I would place another (my 3rd order in less than 1 month) of over $50. Their response had me :irked:. Their response was something along the lines of "Yes you can place another order but the shipping charge is $10."

So, they won't get anymore of my business :D Have since placed orders with Kensfish.com and from a MFK community vendor.
 
Im irritated as hell with them right now. I paid for express shipping and they sent it VIA fedex "Smart post"(I have no idea what is so smart about it) the package was shipped from Wisconsin 9 business days ago as of today I ordered a ton of stuff I needed rather quickly
In the past it took 3 days to get here through UPS

All the tracking says is that it left wisconsin then its no activity
 
me and a buddy got frozen food this week perfectly and on time. these stories will be committed to memory though...

check your credit card stament because drs fostersmith donot chaege for items until they are actually shipped i have had several items on back order thru them over the years and i have never been charged for an item before it shipped

I have had them offer to reship a 2 dollar item at thier expense on something that was weather/carrier related not drs fault,

i have also had them ship replacment items next day air for a package lost by fedx and guess what both packages arive the same day on the same fedx truck.. dors told me to donate the "replacment" items to my lfs

i have never had a single issue when ordering from DRS FOSTER AND SMITH that was not handled imediatley and to a high quality of coustomer satisfaction...

if i could find a store for every type of products i use in daily life with coustomer service like drs foster smith i would be in hog heaven but you wont find the great coustomer service by drs in most places
