That should be 1/4" irrigation line. Air line is not made for high pressure. It will allow an emitter to pop off. Temps will crash etc... Trust me..

Filter came in this morning. I see many systems running with 2 or three stages.
The one i bought is single stage, but it has carbon as well as a 5 micron sediment filter

Filter's threads are messed up. Went to home depot to get a replacement. Waiting for everyone in the house to go to sleep so I can tap into cold water line.

what's the quickest way to get to itrrigation line from 1/2" pex? And how do you guys secure the line in the tAnks?
You definitely need high pressure irrigation line. I've had the drip emmiters pop off because of using air tubing and overfill the pond to the brink of what my drains could handle. I superglue them now and use a zip tie as a hose clamp.
I think there's got to be a reducer for you. Sharkbite makes all kinds of great T's reducers etc. Brass is great but they also have plastic couplings that fit around tubing and bite pieces together. They come in reducers to go from 1/2 -1/4.
what kind of filter did you go with? I build my own, crude and ghetto but effective and easy to swap out bulk carbon/zeolite. Probably don't need them as my water source is reliable to can't be too careful

I went with a standard single stage- I kept the same cartridge- a 5 micron carbon block.
I am not planning on using the emitters to contrl flow, I will have one valve per tank to do that, was just looking for something with a smaller diameter for the tank to be less noticeable and to keep pleco fry from getting up there.

Just want to mention, make sure you put a valve right before and right after the filter. That way you can valve it off when you need to change the filter element.
