well have you done the math yet?

to build a strong and reliable enclosure or a 4 foot specimen, This is my estimate
no way this is accurate.

8x4x4 enclosure - $300
Pond liner, one that wont get ripped by sharp claws - $200-300
heat lamps and lights to imatate the sun - $400-500
heater for the water also - $150-300
so i would say to house it it would run roughly 1000 for life.

Dont forget to add the cost of keeping and feeding it.

actually i don't think that uva/b are needed as caiman should be eating whole prey.

will do
will be a few months though

well, since your going to do it i'm kinda exited wanting to see what you come up with for an enclosure. i always liked playing with decent sized cages. keep us posted.

I dont think rellying on big windows would be such a good idea:confused: For one as you reallised you cant connect a window to a termostat, it will heat and could boil your caimen in a hot day and not diving enough the rest of the days, second the nearby windows would make a too big of termic diferences so harder to heat the enclosure. Also dont know if dwarf caimans are big fans of intense ligth. Windows are good but far in the same room, not as part of the cage heating sistem;)

but they will provide some basking light for him. im not sure when i will be able to get him. trying to buy a house...... fun fun.
i will keep u all updated when i get him

awesome
unfortunatly i do not have the funds to build one that nice
