at least i keep cool reptiles:headbang2

You call buying them and either 1. not taking proper care of them so they die or 2. getting rid of them after a month because you are bored of them being a "reptile keeper"??????

I think you should get a retic, only dont waste your money or time on a dwarf go ahead and get a full grown mean assed female. Maybe then at least one animal you keep has a chance at teaching you something.:headbang2

there still agressive to start with, but they can be tamed. I think they stop growing at like 7-8 feet? something like that, theres also super dwarfs, which i believe get to be about 5 feet. I might have it mixed up and it might be like 10-12 for a dwarf, and 7-8 for a super dwarf though..

Yea I think that's pretty accurate from what I remember when I was researching them. Large cichlids I wouldn't reccomend them unless you have some boa or python experience. Get a nice Redtail boa, I'm not sure if your already have a ball Python if you don't start with that instead of the Redtail Boa, after lots of preparation and research if you are dead set on getting a dwarf retic, so you can see that even though they are a dwarf species they still get massive. I would wait a while, you're going to have your hands full with the nile monitor

Yea I think your already in over your head with the tokays LC. You couldn't handle a monitor that gets over seven feet long, but your gonna get a snake that can get 20 feet +? Not the best idea. Plus your not going to give even close to a right size enclosure, especially a 55 gallon.

ive had to care for some retics at the store, they are not pleasant as a general rule. They take ALOT of work, and getting a dwarf one still means be prepared for a big mean snake, and i def wouldnt reccomend it to you if you have trouble with the "big scary" tokay! Buy a carpet python, keep it tame, then try a dwarf retic. mean snakes bite, big mean snakes bite harder and can defently hurt you.

Hang on, are you keeping these animals so you can just say 'hey I've got a better reptile'? Is that what the Nile was about? Were you hoping in a few years you'd be able to show us up with your 7ft lizard? If so, there is a lot you need to learn about reptile keeping. You have to know your boundaries. Sure it's nice to have an animal that not many others have, because you feel unique, but to get animals that you clearly cannot handle is just plain dumb.
