dwarf reticulated python

I've heard of Dwarf Rectics but they still get pretty big. From all the comments I see, it looks like you need some more experience with reptiles. Start off slow and simple. Don't rush to the big fish. In fishkeeping we already know what happens to that cute Oscar that people thought would be a good fish to have...they over took Florida. So just take it slow and easy. I think there are many snakes out there that are cool and small. California King Snakes are pretty bad ass if you ask me. :D

There is a guy on the bobclark forum that has a 15' 9" 126lb female Jampea dwarf retic as well as a 13' 60lb male so although they may not get as massive as a mainland they do still get quite large.

To give LC an idea... 8+ feet snakes require two people or more to handle them -- and that's talking in term of full-grown men.

Again, the problem with many of the so-called "dwarf" retics are that they have been mixed with normal-sized retics.

This comes from misinformed breeders thinking that there's a single gene at work that makes the dwarfs, that simply just not the case. Their size come from their ancestry. So what you have is a bunch of breeders crossing true dwarfs with normals and what you have is a bunch of "dwarf" retics that are growing as large as normal ones, adding to the confusion.

If you want a true dwarf retic, there are few sources in the U.S. where you can get one of pure blood. Brian Sharp and Bob Clark are two of them.

Very true...and when you consider the massive size of a normal retic and even chop that in half, you're still dealing with a HUGE snake. You figure the average growth of a retic is about 17'+...take 1/2 that and you're down to 8.5 feet. That's much easier to work with, but the key item to note is the "+" on that average...so 8.5 feet is more like a minimum.

Here is me with a 8 foot Red Tail Boa. I am 16 years old, 5'9" and 140~ pounds. I lift weights everyday. This snakes tires me out in MINUTES. I do not recommend it for anyone, let alone LC. These snakes must be taken very seriously, if you don't give them the respect they need, they will take your life. And its only 8 feet long, imagine something 15 feet long! I wouldn't even think about it.

you're looking a little scrawny here;) . I've never held anything bigger than my 3 foot Jungle Carpet python, but I can tell from the picture it must be a handfull even for a nice big football player like myself;) :D , lol JK but how much does the snake weigh? and LC don't be laughing your *** off at his advice think about it without us where would you be?

I just got back from todays work out. Today I did 20K(12 mile) bike ride on my mountain bike. I choose the mountain bike because its heavier then the bikes the people in the tights have so I build muscle faster. I will go weight it right now, BRB.

OK, me and my mom weighed it and its 35~pounds on an empty stomach. But remember, this animal is %100 muscle and goes where it wants to go.

Only imature people laugh at other peoples strugles. I laugh at you because your brain does not comprehend intelligence.
