Ebay:Your thoughts and experiences

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I decided,,, I refunded him the money in full.. I informed him that I dont allow international bidders.. It just was not worth risking 500..
I dont have anythign against international .. the problem is it becomes murky water if something goes wrong.. I spent a lot of time on the phone with paypal and ebay.. Like mudfrog said,, ebay protects the buyer..

I just chalk it up as a learnign experience.. We both lose no money just some time..

Thanks for the advice..

Just wait till you get your stupid sellers fee.

I want to know your EBAY stories good and bad.. Also, what steps you took or attempted to do to remedy the problem as a buyer or seller..

I will go first..

I sold and Item on Ebay that is valued at 500 and a buyer from Egypt purchased it. I had no international in my ad and in the Ebay settings. This person is shipping to New Jersey and then who knows.. Also, this person only has two positive feedbacks. I already received the payment via payapl. Something inside my stomach makes me think its a scam. Paypal says I am protected.. I have doubts.. Something seems fishy.. ... What do I do ???
Do I ship it
Or do I not
What can I do??

what is your ebay story???????????

i do not understand your problem.. the buyer paid for item.. it is your obligation to send it.. and send it soon.. he probably has some one in the family or business etc who will ship it to him internationally.. you did say he wanted it shipped here in US right.... once you post and except... you need to deliver.

Actually, I would not be scamming. In my ad it says NO International shipping and no International bidders.. Sure in my case he is not shipping to EGYPT but he is international.. he didn't read the rules.. I prefer negative feedback as opposed to positive feedback and a loss of 500..Also, my ad said, If you have less than 10 feedback email me first.. He did not...

When I email him all he writes is ship it... yes he expects to get what he paid for...

What are other peoples experiences????? share your situation or shine in...
How could you lose $500 when you already had $500 payed from him in your paypal account.. he is not considered an international buyer if he is telling you to ship to jersey...

There are all kinds of things that can happen. I work for a company and we were recently scammed $400 and used Paypal. There are many loopholes and even more shipping internationally.

Evidentially all these people getting on you don't realize how eBay does sellers. If you did have no international bidders your good to go on the refund. I sold a high end thermostat NIB & even had insured, signature confirmation. Buyer claimed he didn't get it, even though he did sign for it or someone at his residence signed for it. PayPal pulled the money back out of my checking account & refunded the buyer, even with all of my paper trail in order. eBay/PayPal will always side with the buyer.

If your gut said refund the Money & keep your item then go with your gut.

That is pretty much what happened with us too!

yes but he was not shipping internationally.. his only obligation was to ship to jersey.. there are scams everywhere so true.. but if he is going to be a buyer on ebay and he wants to stay in good standing with buyers.. he needs to ship when he is paid.... otherwise he is in the wrong.. but he will learn.. if he intends to do this..

i have to agree with you that ebay will almost always side with buyer.. but if this is the exact thing that happened this was definitly wrong on their part..There are all kinds of scams out there.. maybe this was another one.. for the most part people are good.. honest etc.. so you have to think positive about most of the dealings with buyers... just like alot of buyers are scammed once in awhile by a bad seller.. if you are going to be in the public.. expect somewhere sooner or later that one of these ?? will come your way..
