Hi all I've got a problem with my FH Eddie about 3ish months ago I had to treat for internal parasites he had stopped eating and had white stringy poo. The medication seamed to affect his swim bladder at first as he lost all buoyancy but that seemed to fix its self and he got back on track started eating again.

I then seemed to find after treatment every time I fed hikari cichlid exel he lost buoyancy again but came back to normal in less than 24 hours so I stopped feeding that.

He stopped eating again and about 3 weeks ago but no white stringy poo this time although there is clear poo coming out and every now and then a bright yellow lump appers.

Ive did another treatment for internal parasites to no avail and I'm lost for what to do now.

Cheers guys

What did u use to treat? Try feeding with mixing garlic or bloodworm juice. I’d dose some epsom salt to the tank for now. Any stressors in the tank?

Sorry I should of mentioned that initially it was a discus wormer I used recommended by someone on hear as I couldn't get hex sheild hear in the uk and they have had luck treating internal parasites on FH with it, I'll stick a pic of it up.

I've already dosed the tank with Epsom salts 1 table spoon per 5 gallons, due a large water change today.

He's a solo pet the only stress he gets is from defending his tank from myself and family ?.

I water change every other day around 30/40% and water tests always come out spot on.

Unfortunately he won't eat at all every now and then he acts like he wants the pellets/prawn/krill but won't take them no more.

For the last 3 days he has just hung at the surface of the water with his hump slightly sticking out.

Thanks for your replys if you need any more info just let me know.

He dose still come to me when I go to the tank, he will still swim and attempt to bite my fingers through the glass but he always swims slightly head down. After a few mins of been left he'll just drift back to the surface and stay there.

I'm adding some pics don't know if there relevant or not but he has this black mark near his anal vent that's always been there but has seemed to recently get a little bigger and darker, it was the reason I treated with epsom salts as I wondered if it was a blockage but theres been no change after having the Epsom salts added.

I've added quite a few pics as he doesn't like the phone he just want to attack it so won't sit still, hopefully you can see what I mean.

If he was my fish, at this point I would be trying the following......

CZ Clear can help (especially developed for flowerhorns). My guess is that it contains metro in one pill and an antibiotic in the other (maybe oxytetracycline). It comes with a syringe. If this fish is 10"+ long, you will need 2 bottles, and to do the full treatment of all the pills. There's quite a few youtube videos on how to slowly insert the syringe and very slowly inject the medication into the mouth.

HTH

Dose anyone know if there is an alternative to CZ Clear that may be available in the UK.
I can't find that for sale anywhere that will ship it to the UK.
