Eheim Filters not adequate?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sounds good on the filter media stacking though I usually put the bio-media in last as it helps catch any finer particles. I wouldn't bother changing it until the next time you open the filter.

Be a bit careful on how much total media you put in the filter because you don't want to force the top lid on the filter and compress the media too much. There is also the chance you can break the legs of the lattice screen if you need to 'push' the media down to get the lid on.

Also, there is no need to crank the latches down. I just do mine finger snug, alternating latch tightening as you do when putting lug nuts on your car tires. Did you double check that the o-ring in is the groove on the lid? It usually comes loose in the bottom of the filter canister.

Yep. O-ring fell out in my lap, had to put it back in the lid. I tested it out in a trash can outside, no problem, so I carried it inside and put it on the tank--I just couldn't wait There is A LOT more flow with the 2262 running. A LOT! All those surface plants I had got sucked under, the Vallisneria plants are all swaying around. So I"ve got plenty of flow. I think I might drill out the holes in the spray bar a bit.

It looks like a reef tank in there now. I'm gonna have to turn this thing off to feed the fish.

Water's crystal clear this morning. Nothing but a few tiny bubbles in the water. Yea, over filter is the way to go.
