Eheim pimps make it hard to be cool!

Well I'm 29 and have been making my own money for years now. I guess you missed the point that I'm joking. You also don't seem to understand sarcasm either out of ignorance I guess. I know fish keeping might be considered a nerdy hobby but it's still fun. You don't think there are people that buy fx5s or 2262s because they're impressed by the size and power of them and think they're "cool"? That's what I'm poking fun at. I'll admit that's part of the reason I got my fx5 because I was impressed with how big it was. I'm poking fun at myself as much as anyone else. Just trying to do some light hearted kidding. I seriously do research a filter for at least a few weeks to see if it's really what I need and I think it will last.
 
A canister filter makes you cool? I'm almost feel embarrassed for you, reading that.

I do feel embarrassed for your inability to read and understand the english language. It has already been brought up for that I was sarcastically joking for all the people too slow to pick up on that themselves. Now you say that. I just have to ask are you dumb?

Well when you try to be funny and give someone a hard time about something that's already been addressed makes you seem dimwitted and slow. You failure to obtain information that is presented because you find it stupid doesn't excuse you from making 2 hours late comments. It just makes you dumb and unmotivated. I'd like to point out as well that if this thread is stupid it makes you stupid for posting in it so welcome to my world.

One of HarleyK's 2262 has now been running for 14 months ... no reduction in flow = no cleaning of filter :D

Just a little clarification:
My enthusiasm for Eheim is based on about 30 years of personal experience in this hobby, with this brand and others. I am brand loyal because they have served me very well over the years. Except the 2080, which I have (decommissioned) and it is a POS - I am not shy to say so. Thus, not sure where you see much bias. I call it experience. If a product is crap, I say so. As for the FX5, they haven't been around long enough to prove their value to me. I buy products because they last and perform reliably, not because they're cheap or "in". You see several threads on this board how FX-5s have problems. Let them last as long as my Eheim (--> HERE). I'd be excited if somebody dropped me a line in 10 years and we post a poll for survivors. Then I will make up my mind if a filter can be endorsed.

As for overfiltration: This is /\/\onsterfishkeepers. 'Nuff said. :cool:

Let us know how you like the 2262 :thumbsup:
