Well I'm 29 and have been making my own money for years now. I guess you missed the point that I'm joking. You also don't seem to understand sarcasm either out of ignorance I guess. I know fish keeping might be considered a nerdy hobby but it's still fun. You don't think there are people that buy fx5s or 2262s because they're impressed by the size and power of them and think they're "cool"? That's what I'm poking fun at. I'll admit that's part of the reason I got my fx5 because I was impressed with how big it was. I'm poking fun at myself as much as anyone else. Just trying to do some light hearted kidding. I seriously do research a filter for at least a few weeks to see if it's really what I need and I think it will last.

Umm ok thats funny?

I do think his bias for Eheim clouds his judgment on really being able to suggest any type of filter. He seems unjustly hard on the fx5 for its shortcomings and will make excuses or justify the shortcomings of a 2262 he likes them so he's willing to live with it.

.... thats his opinion, why does that concern you?
This is a free world, we can think what we like, say what we like
and use whatever filter we like.

lol, i cant believe some people actaully took this original poster seriously!!

it was riddled with funnies, lol! some people take thinsg too seriously haha!

im cool too i think. im diy with a sump ABOVE the tank and using my own noob media. yes, i know- i rock haha especially in my own world of SUPER coolness! lol!!!

He might have been joking, but Im not when I say that I own a classic, and am therefore cooler than those of you who dont.

Sorry if Im coming off as an eheim snob, but its true. :D

lol! i owned a eheim classic 2213. it was ok but man the flow rate could use some serious oomph. its like a 1.6 cyl engine on a f-150. sucks.

Like all other filters, you seriously need to over do it.

I run the 2213 on my 10g planted tank. For planted tanks, there is nothing other than eheim. (At least to a point where size makes them inefficient, however few planted tanks reach this scale.)

For big preds, I say sump.

havent owned another cannister besides my two eheim pro 2 on my 125 but i can say that i do not like how expensive the replacement parts are for them. also the o-ring gaskets between media trays get smashed and hold shape so there is fish dookie in between my trays as well as being on top of the media. they are slient and dont leak and they work so i guess im happy with them but they do have a slow flow. if i would have bought brand new knowing what i know about them now i would buy something else. and dont waste your time arguing with people on here. think about it. its total strangers who dont like what you say who cares lol. well whatever you choose i hope youre happy with it.
