I must thank Peathenster for such an excellent presentation on genetics that you would learn in any introductory genetics class and he is absolutely correct. The EBJD is not a hybrid, but a product of rare recessive traits found in JDs with the corresponding gene. Just think about how some people are born with green or grey eyes. These eye colors are fairly rare, but they occur due to the presence of the recessive genes that the parents of the offspring carry (I am aware of the fact that people dont get culled or killed off in the wild but bear with me). However, no matter what you say these eye colors are natural, but require a special set of conditions that each parent must fulfill. Now if you wanted to create a bunch of these crazy eyed offspring then you would do exactly what most EBJD breeders do (it sounds nasty as hell but its true, blame genetics). Obviously, there would be severe consequences for such selective breeding, which is why we are seeing such deformities in most EBJDs. The reason that there are so many problems with the EBJDs on the market is due to the fact that breeding EBJDs requires a substantial amount of time, money, and effort (imagine the costs of trying to breed and raise a bunch of grey eyed children). I mean why look for a EBJD from another bloodline from another person (if there is one near you) when you can just use the daughter? Hopefully, through responsible breeding we can produce EBJDs without the deformities that can be sold at a reasonable price, so that everyone can enjoy their beauty without the price and fear of them randomly dying
