electrical outlet question..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Being a do-it-yourself electrician this thread is funny. :)

Like someone said before, there is a lot of misinformation being posted. If you are unsure about anything call a licensed electrician.

I have a whole fish room minus the lights on a 15 amp breaker. That's a number of 50 watt heaters, 2x300, 150 and a 250. Two large hobs, mag 18, xp4 and two air pumps. Even with 3 more heaters I didnt trip the breaker.

I only had to rewire for two 800w heaters that pull 9amps a piece. Now my 450g has three dedicated circuits. 2x30 and 1x15 for lights. Those circuits will probably also run another 800g or so soon. I doubt you would have any problems. Just try it and keep an eye on things. If you overload it, you trip the circuit and you've got to rethink.

[sarcasm] lick your fingers and put them in a lightbulb socket [/sarcasm]

Get an electrician if you are at all unsure. Pay him $100 bucks, to say "everything is ok" and then sue the pants off him if something bad happens. If at all in doubt, do NOT seek advise online, get someone there who can see ALL the evidence and make an informed decision. Please, for all of our sakes.

Only YOU can prevent stupid fires!

you know..i don't have much time looking things up..i can only keep up with my posts here..
so i'll just get someone to come over when I get thestuff.
thanks raul-7 though; you cleared things up a little

You know you really need to have basic knowledge to understand the basic answers that have been given you. You ask "What is Amps?" yet that information was given way back in post 16. You really should follow rallys advice and understand the basics by spending a little time and researching yourself. This way you would not have to ask the same questions over and over.

Personally I think your putting way to much into this, You have a small aquarium set up, that requires a minimal amount of power. If the circut that you are plugged into is tripping, then ask questions.

I'm sorry bedrick and Ianab..I probably skipped some posts(I had alot in this one)

I don't want to ask questions, once I burn my house down..I wanted answers before I take action

You got many answers but since you are not willing to obtain the basic knowledge to understand these answers, you better keep the fire dept. on alert.

will do. they're 3(1 minute with the sirens) minutes from my house.(i think that department was build for me.lol)

and i'll take the time to print all of the posts on this thread and read them during break
