Never had that problem with beardies, even with the females establishing their heirarchy. I cared for a 1.3 colony that lived in a 4 ft tall x 2 ft wide x 8 ft long cage at a herp store, as well as my personal pair that lived in a 40 breeder (I wanted to go larger on tank, but was jobless and was raising 40-50 babies in a 90 gallon I had - sold all the babies and adults all at once).

The pair-of-beardies-in-a-40-breeder horse has already been beaten once in the threat. Don't think we need to beat it again.
yeah my male and females were in a large trough type cage and they got along good.I think you just need to give proper space, keep them fed good and get them sunlight through a out door pen when you can, they love it.Lots of climbing space and hides.

uros vary from speicies to speicies. malis being the cheapest. ornates, morrocans being the most expensive..

one of the big things to remember with uros is not to go cheap. most of them are imported and come in with heavy parasites and most do not eat.. if your going to get one i would go through a quality breeder. i use Deer Fern Farms, Doug is a great guy. always sells top notch uros..

ive had many uros, 4 malis, 3 saharans, and an ornate. i love them.. they have great personalities, very calm. easy to feed and they dont get huge.. the color morphs within each speicies is unreal.. if you have anymore questions about them i would love to help.. ive been thinking about getting another pair to keep as display animals..
are they a active reptile like beardies or nocternal

they are active during the day.. they are not the most active reptile out there. but they are active enough.. but they are very inquisitive.. mine have always had great personalities.

beardies in my opinion arent very active either.. my brothers just hangs out all of the time.. mine did pretty much the same. they are just very laid back which makes them great as pets..

you cant go wrong with either

I think a uro is a good idea.........I know you're in Pittsburgh but the Hamburg Reptile Expo usually has mali's for pretty cheap.........check kingsnake.com for show dates.....

I think a 40BR is a bit tight for a BTS. I suppose it could work, but I'd want something like a 5x2 as a minimum for a blue tongue.

yeah a 40 breeder is a bit tight.. a 5x2 or a 5x1.5 would be the smallest i would go with one

im hoping to find something on the 31st at the mars, PA show. hamburgh is to far for me

if you go with a uro.. make sure you can see it eat at the show.. make sure that it is nice and fat as well. they are notorious for being hard to get acclimated if you purchase them when they are sick..

they make great pets though:headbang2
