How quick to the molly fry grow chomper? How long would you say to get the size of walmart molliess? like 1" I guess.

thats a sweet idea, I think I'll be doing that with our 10 gal, we were talking about tearing it down all we have in there is a clown pleco I guess he only gets to be 4"

My Covicts were literally in the tank for a day and they laid eggs and are raising the babies right now.
My 6 convicts do the same thing in my 150, nothing like free food for the monsters.

I have no idea. My fish won't let them get that big. I have some lyre tail mollys this time and I was thinking of setting up a tank for them. None of the fry have lyre tails yet and they still look like large guppy fry. The advantage of using mollys as feeders is their fry are larger when born.

The best growth seems to be when they are first born and while young, provided they have a constant supply of food. I like to "power feed" my feeders because it makes no sense to me to give my fish skinny feeders.

To get to Walmart size, I would guess two to six months depending on the amount of food they are given. Starved fish will have very little growth while power fed fish will grow quickly.

I have been using tadpoles as feeders and my senegal bichirs have added almost an inch in the past four weeks. Tadpoles are packed with growth hormones and they get passed on to the fish. I think fish fry may also have high amounts of growth hormones judging by their growth rate.
