Jed, Fish cannot physically choke.

It is impossible.

choke - To interfere with the respiration of by compression or obstruction of the larynx or trachea.

which is physically impossible for fish.

what CAN happen - The rocks can clog the digestive track. Or they are just huge and stress out the fishes organs.

Ok, soooo not too familiar with this fish but is it a labyrinth fish??? As snakehead and bettas?? If so....it could choke. Most lab. fish have to get to the top to get air. I would assume if something did possibly block the passage way and it could not get air then it would have difficulty continuing repiration. I know snakeheads can get screwed if they get something too big in thier mouth for too long because fo this. I say they can choke, by your definition even.

Hmmm damn ho to describe……u knw when the fish breath you see it opening its mouth spreading its gills and letting the water pass through and you see in it's mouth open that there is also soemthing that moves in it. IMO, all those things that move are what makes the fish breath properly. So when the rocks clogged the throat area. Not everything could function properly. Not saying the fish would right right away but its more like a slow suffocation.

Also agreeing with this statement!!

Hah! Nice work. you took the bait and won.

I guess I underestimated a couple of the people here. This is quite true, If infact it did stop the fish from getting air into its "lung" then it could verywell have choked.

Great work, I was waiting for some one to say this and finally some one with some knowledge did.

A+
