Oh, I have a problem. Within a year's time, I started with a 20 gal and now also have a 55 and just got an 85. I haven't even stocked the 85 yet, and there's already talk of getting a 125 too!

I meant space for the fish. I know I have Tons of room, the the electricity bill is getting up there as well.

God.... the amount of pets I own is dictated by how much room I have in my desginated room.

Of course, herps were bad for me since they got those rack system.

I was helping my brother find a fish today (doesn't know what he wants) and I walked into a store and what did I see, a  Panther Grouper , the only fish that could make me go to marine. I was like, "I could setup the 55 to hold it for 3-6mths then buy a 8'x3' for him, no, dont be stupid think of the $$ and lack of room and, but its a Panther Grouper":drool::drool:. Luckily my brother dragged me out of the store.

Then down the road we went to another store, and my brother seen a Saratoga Jardini and he wanted it. The owner walked up asked if we need help, my brother said I want a Arowana. I jokingly pointed at a picture of a Super RED and said 'one of them'. He turned round and said I can order it in if you pick it up when it arrives:jaw-dropp. They are illegal and this guy was willing to get one for me, in my mind I thought "remove grouper insert Super Red". I had to go sit in the car to calm down:cry:.

Do I have a problem?

NOVA! You are a controlled , glacial, guy..SO much self control would be absolutely impossible with me:cry:

haha great thread.

i have 15 tanks running currently. YEAH 15!!! also have 5 more in garage awaiting room in the house, and money for stock and supplies.

currently in process of purchasing my first home. the home say "monster fishkeeper" all over it. and this is EXACTLY my first thought of the house. it is a split lvl with 4 floor lvls. 2 basements.... roughly 1000sqft of area for tanks and tank accessories.

so, all in all i have put my fishkeeping hobby, before my personal needs. i am married but with no kids. wife supports the hobby to a degree. and we live in a apt. now, and this house is almost like a gift from God. to basically fulfill our growing family, and fish addiction.

i have to stay out of LFS's for the most part. if i cannot spend any money that week on "fish stuffs". which is very hard for me because my job is a route driver, and i see quite a few LFS's along my routes. but its a never-ending discipline everyday.

i totally "geekout" after the, no spending money week is over. i've been keeping fish for about 20years now. me and my wife cannot have kids, so we have replaced at least for now, with our aquatic/cats/dog "children".

what i can say for any up and coming "fishkeeper" is be prepared for the ADDICTION. and don't waste money of tons of little tanks, because eventually you will graduate to cichlids, and even to "monsters". because to be frank, you will get tired of several small tanks with guppies, tetras, and such. :screwy: :screwy: :grinno: :WHOA:

well gl to all, and happy "fishkeeping". :headbang2
