very friendly people

 NOT. The old bat that answers the phone must have been out of prozac when I called.

There's a reason their price is so cheap; you get what you pay for.

im sorry you had that experience i have been very happy with my tank and service, granted its no show tank but its a nice tank and if not for them i wouldnt have my monster tank or be apart of this great hobby nearly as much as i am now

You want almost the same thank I just received from them 3 months ago, I paid extra for 3/4 inch glass all around though. Still just $1200. Built like a german tank I ordered top frame all the way around not like they usually build them with no top frame in back.
BUT........700 lbs takes at least 6 guys to move it and 8 guys to put it on the stand. They deliver to a place off the freeway and you have to pick it up with another truck and take it home. Email me privately for more info. brcacti@hotmail.com

There are many many complaints on many forums about them. Then again there are many who praise them. Most of the complaints are mainly acyrilic stuff, and custom stuff, and a lot of customer service issues. There was some threads on another forum where the guy quoted the entire emails and phone conversations, and to be honest, not sure if I'd ever buy from em again even though I have a GC 240 and happy with it. The other reason is there prices are much higher than they used to be. The 240g is $150 more in under 2 years time. Pretty soon they arent going to be the cheapest ones anymore. I kinda wish I had waited, the LFS actualy had a $2/g sale and could have got a 220g for $440, thats about the only tank cheaper than GC new and local I've seen. I havent decided if I'll look elsewhere when I go bigger, maybe I might fins a super used deal.

^ Agree with this. I've just heard too many mixed reviews to trust them, especially if the price isn't blowing everybody else away. Used is the way to go if possible IMO, though the OP is looking for a 10' tank and those don't come around every day in the classifieds/craigslist.

you talking about the sale at aquarium adventure ? if so i got a buddy that got his 180 from there when they had that sale the only problem with that is they only had up to 210 and i really want a tank that is 300 or larger and the biggest one that i have seen in any LFS is 265(glass) if i didn't want such a big tank i would just buy the 265 that all-glass makes but i want something more but if you are talking about the sale at aquarium adventure i knwo what your talking about and i got my fish club membership with them good store i like em alot ill have to do a search about glasscages and try to find these old threads about them

Yeah the $2/gal sale was at AA (and only for that one week I think). But yeah, your limited in size there. I would have happily went 210, or 220 vs my 240, but if your wanting 300+ thats a different story. There is a pretty big price jump between 220 and 265 too, like double I thought. In my house it was very difficult to deal with the 8 foot tank (both moving it and also finding a wall large enough to put it lol) I'd prefer a 6 or 7 foot tank thats taller & deeper as opposed to longer, but thats just me.

On a side note, the normal price at jacks for a 220G is more expensive than GC but if you want it drilled with twin overflows the price is actually the same/cheaper last I worked the numbers out. Seems like GC charges a lot more for the overflows... but they are built well... my overflows are 1/2" glass and the base is doubled up around the overflows (1"). I wish they would have put them all the way to the corners though, instead there is like a 6" gap of wasted space and less room in the 'middle' now. Would use less materials too since the overflow would not need a side wall since it would be up against the side. I was much to hasty when I ordered, I had just decided to get a big tank and noticed that in a week they would be in Columbus and that was it for the years schedule. Well apparently they are in Columbus like once a month nearly, they just dont put it in the schedule in advance.

Lets see if this works attaching 3 pics of my GC 300 gal when first delivered and very dirty.

i was going to ask you about that does the tank have a floating bottom (i think thats what its called) or is the glass just thick enough or do they not need one with something this big ?
