Its not immature to say screw them, a bit harse but true. I have one religious friend and he told me he finds me insulting just cause I choose to ignore the 'exsistance of god' and that "jesus wept for me and I should be thankful":screwy:. I don't ignore god, its just he doesn't exist, he might for you but not for me.
Relgion makes me uncomfortable but when I see a cross or a staute of jesus I don't ask people to remove it, I put up cause its their right to display it, just as I have to right to have anything I want in MY tank. If you were to have a cross hanging from the mirror of your car and a friend told you thats it insults them would you remove it, I wouldn't I say put up with it or walk.

It's your house, if someone is offended by such things they need to go back to their cave!
Better it is in a tank then in the garbage. Mine is on my Monitor, wonder if I offend anyone, thats why the sticker on the back of my monitor(facing the door says) Special of the F(censored)ing Day! CLUES $5 (No censoring)
That is meant to offend.
Love working for a company with no Human Resources!

it's sounds like a good isia... a budda in the tank whould look nice i think, and if you like it no one should feel offended. it whould look nice with some feng shui fish like an asian aro, the flag tail and some dats...;)

I would probably ask him if he was also offended by the statues used in gardens simply for decoration. Most using them are non-Buddhists and equate them to a rabbits foot. Supposedly lucky to have one and I don't hear an uproar about that.

I THINK THIS WHOLE DISCUSSION IS RETARDED!!! what started out as a mature respectful though...ended up in a bunch of jerkoffs trying to impress one another!

I'm going to throw my opinion in here....

I'm pagan and I am also tolerant of other religions...
I dont get offended when I see wood or crystals used in aquariums. I am accually consitering setting up a tank that will be used as an alter in my house. Alter being defined as place where I can sit and thank mother earth and father sky for all they have given. An aquarium seems an ideal place for my religion to have religious icons accually.
But...
Tolerance is the name of the game and friendships should not be broken over something as personal as spirituality, no matter who thinks they are in the right. Anyone who wants to put a buddah, a Mary, a Jesus on the cross, or crystals from the earth in thier tank should do it because they find it pleasing to the eye and those who come over to thier house should show respect for the host by not saying anything and living with it since its not thier tank.

I know im going to offend with this but i dont care a whole lot.
Im not religious and think anyone who is has a few screws lose (or even missing), so i wouldnt change a thing and would laugh at anyone who asked me to change it. And before you comment i have no religious friends so dont have to worry about peoples opinions that i actually care about.
One question for the christians isnt it a sin to have graven images?? Which would mean the simple fact of owning a jesus statue would be bad anyway?

Since you asked. I can't speak for all Christians, but I would tend to agree with your assumption. Really the "bad" part is when someone worships a graven image, some Christians make the case that you can have some statues and not worship them, but if you ask me, I don't think that Christians should have any graven images. (Because it tends to lead people twords worship)
