I Just woke up 30 mins ago,My gf telling me that my nephew and his friend who were in the living room downstairs at 3 am Noticed our dog barking at the front door and someone knocking on it . they peak thru a window And notice is some guy holding a gun WTF?:irked:

They back off and walk upstairs ,they don't hear anymore knocking so they don't tell us till around 4.30 am :irked:, I Call the cops and they cant do anything since the guy is prob long gone . today im double checking all doors and locks and i just finished telling my nephew that things like that should be the case to wake me up ASAP. no exceptions on that .

Anyone else get this done to them? looks like either its a guy going house to house and trying to do a home invasion or maybe even someone with a personal beef with one of us here .To say it gently i am now in the process of getting all info i need for a gun permit( I WANT TO DO IT LEGALLY) Becouse if i have a person break into the home were my family and son live i am for sure going to protect them at all cost.

Geepers.... go door to door today and talk to your neighbors. Seriously, if that happened in my neighborhood I would want to know about it.

It will also tell you if you were randomly selected or targeted.. and that is one piece of info I would want to know.

Last but not least, can you corroborate your nephews story at all. Foot prints or anything. The fact that he didn't find it important enough to wake you up screams that either he is dumb as a stump, or made the story up for the sake of a little attention. Bad guys toting guns at 3:00am rarely leave politely after an unanswered knock.

wow-that is scary. i think he's casing your neighborhood for easy break ins. but, with a gun thats even more disturbing-as he is going to resort to violence to get whatever he wants. i suggest you tell your neighbors about him too-that way everyone can tag team looking out for this guy. i also suggest you get a gun, but keep in mind that some states even if you shoot an intruder you can be charged with murder-and even IF you threatened him with a gun, he could be tweaked out of his mind and things could go horribly wrong...

dont let the kids answer the door-and would it be possible to get some kind of alarm system installed? i know they are pricey, but it deters most thiefs. most of all-just be careful, because he may come back.

btw, i mentioned talking to your neighbors because thats what my whole neighborhood does-i have alot of elderly people, and believe it or not they are VERY perceptive to weird people knocking on doors! lol.. they alert everyone..

Yea first thing in the morning im talking to my neibors .just want to see as well if they noticed anything or if i was targeted. as for my nephew i believe he was telling the truth as he was on a marathon playing time with his xbox so maybe the lack of sleep affected him , plus his friend slept over and confirms the story.

will do , the area i live in all the neighbors are literally steps from each other so that will help alert them.as for the gun i 100% AGREE and will do so as soon as it can be done , as for being charged it would be a last resort for protecting my family.

Wow. That's just insane, I would be so scared. If it was me awake, I would have called the cops and open the first floor window and pray the person didn't come busting in and if so....jump. Then...maybe lock him in, lol. Of course my puppy would have to take the plunge with me also.

I hope you get this fix, hopefully will never happen again. I agree a gun would help.

i cannot imagine this .. how horrible.. to always be wondering if and when they will come back.....

I actually had 2 guys break in my house, and i caught them just as they were walking into my sons room who was 6 at the time. Scariest and most terrifying thing ive ever been through, hands down. turned out to be a couple of drunk kids, trying to pull a fast one with nothing more than knives. Problem for them was, Im a martial artist, and have many swords in my house. Even the police told them they were lucky to leave with their heads attached. And trust me, I used every last bit of self control I had NOT to take their heads off, after seeing them about to case my kids room, and god knows what else.

Especially in this economy, you need to protect your house and family even more. more and more people are resorting to crime, and theres no reason honest people should be the victim. Be it firearms, swords, dogs or whatever, you have the right, and unfortunetly a need today to protect yourself in any and every way.

Its too bad more people arent able to be responsible with firearms and weapons. Nothing like reading a story from the NRA, newspaper or somewhere of a legally armed citizen blowing away a piece of trash who came into their house or tryed to cause harm to someone.

Yea i agree that would scare anyone , and is one of my reasons for being worried atm.as long as someone is responsible i see no problem with personal security. and i commend u for ure restraint , have it been me in ure situation i dont believe i would have been so lenient on them.
